November 14, 2023. Monday, Porchlight tenants and their housing allies crashed a charity event for Porchlight, Inc. in order to warn potential donors about dangerous living conditions.
October 18, 2023. Madison Tenant Power joins the world in mourning the murder of Chicago 6-year-old Wadea Al-Fayoume, whose landlord Joseph Czuba broke into a Palestinian family’s home and attacked Wadea and his mother at knifepoint.
October 22, 2023. Half of the tenants in the 40-unit building signed a letter demanding their property manager negotiate a lower increase and fix persistent building-wide issues.
August 2, 2023. Madison does not need more bloated megadorms, which will create a short-term uptick in housing supply without addressing long-term issues with housing affordability and access.
August 2, 2023. This year has been about expanding Madison Tenant Power’s reach by talking to new people, wheatpasting flyers, tabling at housing fairs for Black tenants, and developing our communications to keep a broader base of tenants updated on our activities.
