Working Committees

Madison Tenant Power is a people-powered, non-hierarchical organization with no paid staff. All tenants are welcome to steward the union — which means you have the ability to plan and organize our shared spaces with the full support of the Union. Join us for a meeting!

Communications

Communications builds meaningful connections with our community through storytelling, canvassing, tabling, social media, and print media. We create flyers and other propaganda to share information with each other that empowers us all as tenants. We also maintain our union calendar, mailing list, internal communications, and website. Email comms@madisontenantpower.org to get involved!

Organization + Agitation

Organization + Agitation fosters reciprocal support networks for tenants fighting against housing issues. We support each other in organizing our buildings by sharing skills, knowledge, and mutual aid, as well as by participating in protest, crisis response, and direct action. We support each other at court appearances in landlord-tenant disputes and accompany fellow-tenants to meetings with landlords. We host regular support meetings to discuss tenant grievances, strategize solutions, share resources, and build a sense of collective power across buildings. Email organizing@madisontenantpower.org to get involved!

Membership Empowerment

Membership Empowerment nurtures a healthy and vibrant union culture. We orient new members, maintain member records, and organize community-building events. We host regular meetings to share and develop projects from union members. We also plan parties, check-ins, and workshops that sustain our relationships, promote our collective growth, support the will of our membership, and reflect on our strategy and development. We practice accountability, accessibility, and financial transparency. Email membership@madisontenantpower.org to get involved!
